How to use Annotate PDF

Mark up contracts, reports and coursework the way you would on paper. Highlights follow the real text of the page, notes are saved as genuine PDF comments, and every mark stays editable until you save.

  1. Open your PDF.

  2. Select text to highlight, underline or strike it out, or use the pen, shapes, arrows, notes and stamps.

  3. Save the annotated PDF and download it.

How it works

Questions

Will other PDF readers show my comments?

Yes. Sticky notes are written as standard PDF text annotations, which Acrobat, Preview, browsers and mobile readers display. Highlights and drawings are part of the page, so they look the same everywhere.

Can I highlight a scanned document?

Text highlighting needs real text in the page. For scans, run OCR PDF first, or use the marker tool to highlight freely.

Can I change a mark after placing it?

Yes. Select it to change its colour, thickness or opacity, move it, or delete it. Undo is always available.
